Who am I

I am an avid learner, a wife, a mom of three wild children, an adventurer, a reader, and follow of Jesus. I love people, even the ones that confuse and frustrate me. I believe I can learn something new and worthwhile from every person I meet. This is part of what makes me a great coach. I keep clients at the center of the conversation. I listen for the dreams they are articulating for the first time. I reflect back what I’m hearing and I stay curious.

I often exist in the space between academics and practitioners. These two have much to offer one another, but frequently skip the conversation. I have been a pastor, content creator, seminary program director, and organizational coach. I pursue knowledge and engage research to the extent that either is meaningful for those implementing the findings. I listen to academics, but practitioners are my people. If you are more interested in putting an idea into action than talking about it. You are my people.

The Great Affair

“The great affair, the love affair with life, is to live as variously as possible, to groom one’s curiosity like a high-spirited thoroughbred, climb aboard, and gallop over the thick, sun-struck hills every day. Where there is no risk, the emotional terrain is flat and unyielding, and despite all its dimensions, valleys, pinnacles, and detours, life will seem to have none of its magnificent geography, only a length. It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery, but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.” -Diane Ackerman
